Bhaktamar Stotra

In Jainism, the Bhaktamar Stotra is extremely important. Acharya Shrimantung Suri ji, born in Varanasi to ‘Dhandev’ Shrestha, authored the Bhaktamar Stotra. In Jain traditions, the Bhaktamara Stotra is the most famous Sanskrit prayer. The Bhaktamar Stotra poems have been recited in Vasanttilaka verses.

The term chhand is derived from the words chhandas and chhandah. It has two literal meanings: “enveloping” and “bringing joy.” The sound of rhythm and cadence has an influence on man’s heart, causing him to get fixated on a subject in which he is engaged in the pleasure obtained from it. This is why chhand is the name given to a rhythm and rhythm-based composition. Circle is another name for it. The word “circle” connotes an outstanding composition. The circle is also known as chhand because the listener is affected by its tone and wave even if they are unaware of the significance. This is why all of the Vedas were only realised in poems in the world.

This verse is of fourteen characters. Each phase is formed by the sequence of ‘Tagan’, ‘Bhagana’, ‘Jagan’, ‘Jagan’ and two Gurus. Each verse is made by combining 56 characters of 4 lines.

King Bhoja was enraged at Acharya Shrimantung Suri and imprisoned him, tying his body with chains. In this prison, there were 48 doors with 48 powerful locks on them. Then, recalling Adinath Bhagwan, Acharya Manatunga Swami composed Bhaktamar Stotra, and the lock on the creation of each line kept breaking itself, and the chains of all the chains bound to his body came apart. However, the Shvetambara Jain community mentions 44 stotras. (This topic is still being researched.)

During the reign of Raja Bhoj in the 7th century, Acharya Shrimantung Suri became well-known. This piece is a magnificent song for people who believe in the power of mantra. By saying it in the form of a rosary on a regular basis, one achieves mental calm as well as happiness, wealth, and grandeur. Bhaktamar Stotra is said to have such superiority of devotion in Jainism and other religions that if you recite it with a pure heart, you will experience the presence of God.

The Bhaktamar Stotra should be chanted every day in the morning (sunrise) facing east or north. If you chant in one area, sitting in the same place offers you amazing energy.

Each stotra’s composition is beautiful in and of itself, and it can be sung in a variety of contexts. It is important to listen to Bhaktamar Stotra even while doing job.
