India

The Republic of India is India’s official name. There are 28 states and eight union territories that make up the United States of America. India is the world’s second-most-populous country and the world’s largest democracy. The coastline of the country is 7,517 kilometres long, with 5,423 kilometres belonging to peninsular India and 2,094 kilometres to the Andaman, Nicobar, and Lakshadweep island chains. In addition, the Indian naval hydrographic charts show 43 percent of sandy beaches, 36 percent mudflats, 10% marshy coasts, and 11 percent rocky shores along the mainland coastline.

East India, West India, North India, South India, Northeast India, and Central India are the six major zones that make up India.

Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and the union territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands make up Eastern India. These states have a combined population of 226,925,195 people. Bengali is the major language in the state of West Bengal, which spans 418,323 square kilometres. In the states of Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, on the other hand, Odia and Hindi are the primary languages. Other languages spoken in Eastern India include English, Maithili, Nepali, and Urdu.

Maharashtra’s capital city is Mumbai, India’s financial hub. Western India’s states have a thriving economy and a reasonably good standard of living. Marathi, Gujarati, Konkani, and English are the official languages of the Western Indian states.

Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana are the five states of North India, along with the union territories of Delhi (National Capital Territory), Chandigarh, Ladakh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Northern India’s economy is expanding at a rapid rate. New Delhi, Lucknow, and Chandigarh are the most populous cities in North India.

Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are all part of Southern India, as are the union territories of Lakshadweep. as well as Puducherry. These states and union territories cover more than 19.31% of India’s total land area. Because it is India’s biggest exporter in the IT sector, Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, is known as the “Silicon Valley of India.” Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin, and Mysore are the most populous cities in South India.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland are the seven sister states of northeast India. Northeast India is home to the Himalayan state of Sikkim and the Jalpaiguri Division. Within the seven sister states, there is a tremendous deal of ethnic and religious variety. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are the two states that make up India’s Central Zone.
