Kurukshetra University is one of India’s most prestigious educational institutes. The University, which was founded in 1956, now serves nearly half a million students on campus and through affiliated colleges. The University has received an A+ grade from NAAC and is ranked 8th among the country’s State Universities in Category-I by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), as well as academic autonomy. Kurukshetra University is a large 473-acre campus located on the southern bank of the fabled Brahm Sarovar. Kurukshetra University, in addition to delivering great education to students, represents the values of Yogastha Kuru Karmani, as enshrined in the Bhagwadgita, which means completing one’s activities while being firm in Yoga.
The University is undergoing a rapid transformation into a world-class institution. The University is being digitalized as part of this process in order to create an efficient and transparent system that will enhance a learner’s experience at the university.
The University’s programmes blend the long-term value of a liberal arts education with the skills and expertise that professional departments may provide. Through a highly trained faculty, the University offers 175 courses on campus in 47 Departments/Institutes. Through its 282 affiliated colleges and institutes in seven Haryana districts, the University also plays a significant role in delivering higher education to the state’s young.
The University’s campus has often been ranked as one of India’s most beautiful. It resembles a big, self-contained educational hamlet, complete with lecture halls, smart classrooms, Wi-Fi campus, 24-hour library, labs, on-campus dormitory accommodation, cafeterias, canteens, market, swimming pool, gymnasium, bank, ATMs, post office, and world-class sports facilities. The campus’s most notable characteristic is the seamless integration of nature with the built environment. On campus, there are numerous lush green gardens, drinking fountains, and pathways that provide an excellent atmosphere for study and recreation.
