PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the latest instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi on Monday. PM Modi distributed a total of Rs 19,509 crore from the PM Kisan Samman to more than 9.75 crore farmers’ bank accounts. Modi used video conferencing to communicate with the farmers who would benefit. Narendra Singh Tomar, the Union Agriculture Minister, was also in attendance. PM Modi had already announced the disbursement of the 8th payment of financial benefits under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in May. In the last tranche, money was distributed to 9 crore farmer families.

Let us explain: the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan Yojana) is a government scheme that was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government and went into effect on December 1, 2018. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme provides eligible farmer households with financial support of Rs 6000 per year. 2000 is paid in three instalments of Rs.2000 each over the course of four months. The money are deposited immediately to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Who is eligible to participate?
According to the scheme’s guidelines, the state government and union territory administration identify those farmer families who are qualified for assistance. The funds are deposited immediately to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. This scheme provides rewards to all qualifying farmer families who own land. However, there are some restrictions, such as the following:
- This programme is open to farmer families who have cultivable land.
- Farmers in both rural and urban regions are eligible to apply.
- The family programme is available to small and marginal farmers.
Who isn’t a candidate?
This model excludes tax-paying citizens, professional and institutional landowners such as doctors, engineers, and lawyers. Apart from that, families with constitutional posts or retired persons receiving a monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 are not eligible for this scheme.

All landholder farmer families receive financial benefits under this arrangement. This thousand rupees is distributed to the family in three equal instalments over the course of a year.
