At the time of its collection, the Quran was divided into 30 paras, or Juz. The main reason for splitting the Quran’s Surahs into Juz and Para is to make it easier for people to memorise and read the Quran. The Juz is further divided into Hizb, which are half the length of the Juz or para, and the Quran contains 60 Hizb. Each Juz has a different number of verses.
Sections is the sense of Juz or Para. The Quran is divided into thirty sections, each of which is different in length. Juz number 30 is the most memorised Juz or para of the Quran since it contains short Surahs that are easy to understand and remember. The Quran was only divided into Surahs during the Prophet’s (Peace be Upon Him) time period. Caliph Umar ibn Khattab was the first to divide the Quran into sections called paras or Juz.
30 Para of Quran or Juz name in English
- Alif-laam-meem is the first para or Juz of the Quran, and it contains two Surahs: Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Baqarah.
- Sayaqlu is the second para or Juz of the Quran, and it contains only one Surah, Surah Al-Baqarah.
- Tilka ‘r-Rusulu is the third para or Juz of the Quran, and it contains two Surahs: Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-Imran.
- Lan Tana Loo is the Quran’s fourth para or Juz, and it contains two Surahs, the first of which is Aal-Imran and the second of which is An-Nisa.
- The Quran’s fifth para or Juz is Wal Mohsanat, which contains only one Surah, An-Nisa.
- The Quran’s sixth para or Juz is La Yuhibbullah, which contains two Surahs, the first of which is Surah An-Nisa and the second of which is Surah Al-Maidah.
- Wa Iza Samiu is the Quran’s seventh para or Juz, and it contains two Surahs, the first of which is Surah Al-Maidah and the second of which is Surah Al-Anaam.
- Wa Lau Annana is the Quran’s eighth para or Juz, and it contains two Surahs, the first of which is Surah Al-Anaam and the second of which is Surah Al-Araf.
- The Quran’s ninth para or Juz is Qalal Malao, which contains two Surahs, the first of which is Surah Al-Araf and the second of which is Surah Al Anfal.
- Wa A’lamu is the tenth Para or Juz of the Quran, and it contains two Surahs, the first of which is Surah Al- Anfal and the second of which is Surah At-taubah.
- Yatazeroon is the Quran’s eleventh para or Juz, and it contains three Surahs: Surah At-taubah, Surah Younus, and Surah Hood.
- Wa Mamin Da’abat is the Quran’s twelfth para or Juz, and it contains two Surahs: Surah Hood and Surah Yusuf.
- Wa Ma Ubrioo is the Quran’s thirteenth para or Juz, and it contains three Surahs: Surah Yusuf, Surah Raad, and Surah Ibrahim.
- Rubama is the Quran’s fourteenth para or Juz, and it contains two Surahs: Surah Hijr and Surah Nahl.
- Subhanallazi is the Quran’s fifteenth para or Juz, and it contains two Surahs: Surah Al Isra and Surah Al-Kahf.
- The Quran’s sixteenth para or Juz is Qal Alam, which contains three Surahs: Surah Al-Kahf, Surah Maryam, and Surah Taha.
- Aqtarabo is the seventeenth para or Juz of the Quran, and it contains two Surahs: Surah Al Anbiya and Surah Al-Hajj.
- The Quran’s eighteenth para or Juz is Qadd Aflaha, which contains three Surahs: Al Muminoon, Al-Noor, and Al-Furqan.
- Wa Qalallazina is the Quran’s nineteenth para or Juz, and it contains three Surahs: Surah Al Furqan, Al-Shu’ara, and Surah Al Namal.
- A’man Khalaq is the Quran’s twentieth para or Juz, and it contains three Surahs: Surah Al Namal, Al-Qasas, and Surah Al-Ankaboot.
- Utlu Ma Oohi is the twenty-first para or Juz of the Quran, with four Surahs ranging from Surah Ar-Room to Surah Al-Ahzab.
- Wa Manyaqnut is the Quran’s twenty-second para or Juz, with four Surahs ranging from Surah Al Ahzab to Surah Yaseen.
- Wa Mali is the twenty-third para or Juz of the Quran, with four Surahs ranging from Surah Yaseen to Surah Al-Zumar.
- Faman Azlam is the Quran’s twenty-fourth para or Juz, with three Surahs ranging from Surah Al-Zumar to Surah Fussilat.
- Elahe Yuruddo is the twenty-fifth para or Juz of the Quran, with five Surahs ranging from Surah Fussilat to Surah Al-Jathiya.
- Ha’a Meem is the Quran’s twenty-sixth para or Juz, with five Surahs ranging from Surah Ahqaf to Surah qaaf.
- Qala Fama Khatbukum is the Quran’s twenty-seventh para or Juz, with seven Surahs ranging from Surah Dhariyaat to Surah Al-Hadid.
- Qadd Sami Allah is the Quran’s twenty-eighth para or Juz, with nine verses ranging from Surah Mujadilah to Surah Al-Tahrim.
- Tabarakallazi is the Quran’s twenty-ninth para or Juz, with 11 Surahs ranging from Surah Al-Mulk to Surah Al-Mursalat.
- Amma Yatasa’aloon is the Quran’s thirty para or Juz, with 37 Surahs ranging from Surah An Naba to Surah An-Nas.
