The Advantages of Reading Surah Waqiah: Reading this surah waqiah will ensure that you never go hungry and that all of your needs are met. Every surah in the Qur’an contains numerous healing properties. Surah Al-Waqiah has the wonderful benefit of being easily accessible. There are hadith about the interpretation of Surat al-Waqiah.
“Whoever recites Surah Waqiah at night will never face poverty,” our Prophet (SAW) said in a hadith (Ibn Sunni 620). “Surah Waqiah is the Surah of Wealth, so recite it and teach it to your children,” according to another hadith from our Prophet (SAW) (Ibn Asakir).
Many Islamic scholars and Shaikh Ul Hadith discuss this and advise that we all read Surat Waqiah after Isha every night. Some recommend reading after Maghreb, but Isha is the best.
Inshallah, if you are facing financial difficulties, please begin reading Surah Al-Waqiah. Until reading Surah Waqiah, read Durood and Salawat Ibrahimi three times (or 11 times), and then read Durood/Salawat Ibrahimi again after you’ve finished and made dua (3 times or 11 times). Salawat will make it easier for you to read and will guide your dua directly to Allah SWT’s throne. Furthermore, you will receive barakah for giving blessings to our Prophet (SAW).
Remember that Allah SWT is still with us and will never abandon us in a situation that He knows we cannot manage. He will always provide for us in ways we don’t expect or understand.
History of the Revelation
Commentators on the Quran say that the Surah Waqiah chapter is a Meccan sura, which means that it was revealed to Muhammad (Sal Allaho Aleihi Wasallam) during his time as a prophet in Mecca. Some commentators, but not all, believe that part of it was revealed during the Medinan era. Some commentators believe that verses 39–40 are from the Medinan era, while others believe verses 81–82 and 83 are from the period.
The Nöldeke Chronology (by orientalist Theodor Nöldeke) places the chapter as the 46th in the order of revelation (after Al-Tur), while the standard Egyptian chronology places it as the 41st. The chapter is in the 56th place in the Quran, which is not based on the order in which it was revealed. It is right after Ar-Rahman, which talks about a topic that is somewhat related. Ahmad ibn Ajiba, for example, considers Al-Waqi’a to be a continuation of Ar-Rahman.
